Travel with purpose on your next visit to Gippsland.

We love this land. We love that you do too. From snow-capped mountains to gobsmacking beaches, fern-filled rainforests to glassy lakes, plus UNESCO Biosphere Reserves and Ramsar wetlands, it’s no secret that our natural attractions are our greatest strength.

We join the local communities who live and breathe Gippsland, the Traditional Owners have cared for this country for thousands of years, and eco-conscious visitors in caring for this marvellous patch of planet Earth.

Here, you’ll find eco-friendly experiences, ideas for treading lightly while travelling, and the businesses to support, who are striving for sustainability.

Ways to Tread Lightly in Nature

Places of ecological significance

Croajingolong National Park is listed by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve and it lays claim to over 70 native wildflower, 52 mammal and 250 bird species. There are 65 Ramsar sites Australia-wide, which are wetlands of international significance. Gippsland boasts 2 of these: Corner Inlet and Gippsland Lakes.
