The red and white Swing Bridge gracefully crosses the Buchan River, where clear waters pass over the rock bed below.

Walk under the impressive towers and cables, delighting in the movement of the suspension bridge underfoot.

The base of the Swing Bridge is a popular spot to fish or soak up riverside relaxation with a picnic. The table closest to the bridge has a wild plum tree providing tangy sweet plums in February and March.

The bridge connects the town centre and John Flynn Reserve with the Buchan Recreation Reserve. It’s an easy walk in from the town centre (via John Flynn Reserve), or you can drive right up to the bridge by crossing the river by road, then turning right onto the Buchan-Orbost Rd, past the Buchan Recreation Reserve.
