Mallacoota may well be Victoria’s best kept secret.

Expect lazy days spent beachside in this relaxed and largely undeveloped coastal village, on the fringe of one of Australia’s most beautiful places, Croajingolong National Park. The town is a commercial fishing town, and as such, attracts anglers, recreational fishers, boating enthusiasts and abalone divers for miles around.

Set on Victoria’s far eastern border, Mallacoota is one of the last towns on Gippsland’s border before crossing into New South Wales. For those driving the Melbourne to Sydney Coastal Drive, it is a fabulous place stop along the route to soak up the serenity, explore the beaches, pitch a tent or use as a base for exploring national parks and hikes.
