A beautiful Mallacoota beach ideal for swimming and surfing, where the river kisses the sea.

Betka Beach is a five minute drive from Mallacoota, where the inland waters of Betka River break through to the sea, opening up to a fast running shallow area. When the river entrance is closed off, this becomes a natural playground with warm, still and shallow water.

There is surf to play in, rock formations to climb, fishing spots and river access. Bring along supplies and enjoy the picnic facilities.

Spot scurrying hermit crabs in the shallow water and nesting areas. Also check out the WWII bunker museum close by.

Betka Creek to Secret Beach Walk is an easy to walk trail that offers a wonderful opportunity to observe local flora and fauna as well as views of the water.

Patrolled: No
Hazards: Winds, rips and large high tide range
Foreshore: Flat and wide beach stretching for 3km, littered with rock formations. The mouth of the Betka River meets the sea here
