Fall in love with Phillip Island’s furry mascot, the little penguin, as they waddle from the ocean to their burrows every night.
Just 90 clicks from Melbourne at Summerlands, one of Australia’s largest penguin colonies puts on a spectacular sunset show. Each evening these little cuties waddle in from the shore to their burrows at the Penguin Parade.
There are self-guided viewing options including tiered seating or up-close encounters, or fully guided tours with a ranger. Watch the evening show from a secluded beach, or from underground so that you are eye-level with the penguins. Viewing areas open around an hour before the penguins arrive each evening at sunset.
The Penguin Parade Visitor Centre is open daily with displays and day-time education programs. There is a cafe serving light snacks to full meals, refreshments and coffee.
