Inverloch Beaches

Long, lazy days can be spent on the tantalisingly beautiful beaches, one of the most popular things to do in Inverloch. Take a refreshing plunge in the crystal clear ocean or stroll along squeaky-clean stretches of sand. The gentle Inverloch Foreshore, adjacent to the town centre, is perfect for families. Around the headlands, waves arch and crash on the Inverloch Surf Beach boasting generous swells.

Heading out of town toward Cape Paterson along the Bunurong Coast, the cliff tops rise creating a series of secret coves. Trek down the windy staircases to find your own secluded piece of paradise or comb the rock pools.

Along the rocky shore of The Caves, about five minutes out of town, is the site where more than 15,000 bones, teeth and footprints from small dinosaurs have been found. Head down to the Dinosaur Dreaming site at low tide and walk in the footprints of those beasts who ruled the earth, with items dated to 115 million years ago.

Inverloch Wineries

Some parts of the world are just meant for growing grapes, distilling spirits and brewing beer and cider. The South Gippsland Drink Trail is one of them.

Inverloch’s Dirty Three Wines make riesling, chardonnay, shiraz, but really, it’s all about the pinot noir. Downright dirty and delicious pinot noir. The cellar door is a contemporary space, just perfect for enjoying a gourmet local grazing platter, a tipple of wine, local beers, gin and coffee.

Nearby, Harman Wines’ cellar door is the ideal place to kick back. They sell beer, cider and coffee, and have games to enjoy on the lawns. It all happens on a Sunday where the woodfired pizzas keep on coming, and live music adds to the vibe.

You can pick up a couple more wineries if you head northeast to Leongatha or Koonwarra, as well as a couple of breweries and a distillery via Korumburra and Loch.

Inverloch Walks

If you're looking for things to do in Inverloch, get out to explore the town's walking trails and work off those fish and chips. Take an easy amble along the Inverloch Foreshore Walking Track. The 5km (return) shared track follows the contours the Bass Coast with views across Anderson Inlet and Point Smythe.

The scenic Screw Creek Nature Walk is lavished with salt marshes and mangroves, as it snakes its way up Townsend Bluff for knockout views across Anderson Inlet.
