A beach named for caves tucked into the bluff, fringing the rocky foreshore.

Arriving at the elevated carpark, you’ll have a high vantage point to look over this dramatic section of the Bass Coast. Keep an eye out for whales between May and November.

Making your way down the beach track, read about the dinosaurs that once ruled this section of the earth. This beach is the Dinosaur Dreaming dig site where more than 15,000 bones, teeth and footprints from small dinosaurs have been found, dating back 115 million years.

At low tide a vast rock platform is revealed, showing off thousands of rock pools and interesting rock formations.

At low tide you can make your way along the rocks to enter the cave.

Activities: Surfing, fishing, snorkelling and rock pooling. Caution is advised for swimmers due to strong rip
Access: A foot track enters the beach from the road. While the track is not long, it passes along a bluff of 30m elevation so some fitness is required
