A pocket-sized town attracting those wanting to sink their teeth into the great outdoors.
Cann River is named for the wide, gum-lined river that flows through the centre of the town. Wedged between Coopracambra and Croajingolong National Parks, Cann River attracts earthy, nature types... campers, fishers and intrepid hikers. Its remoteness is part of its charm.
The relaxed village boasts a clutch of coffee shops and eateries, and an impressive two-storey pub with generous verandahs.
Fishing on the Cann River is more than a little gloat-worthy. The slow-flowing and deeply beautiful river heaves with bream, mullet, luderick and perch. The fish are also biting at nearby Tamboon River.
Cann River is adventure HQ with second-to-none 4x4 drives. Set off on your knuckle-whitening adventure exploring the rugged landscapes of the eastern corner of Victoria.
