This drive resembles an outdoor museum showcasing East Gippsland’s rich gold mining history.

Enjoy this historic loop as it transports you back in time, to when the area was mined for gold during 1869 to 1911. This track takes you to a well preserved tunnel that was used to divert water and expose the riverbed.

Also find the Bendoc Historic Park which holds relics from early European settlement and Indigenous cultural heritage. If gold is not your thing, check out the quartz mining shaft at Jungle King Mine. Bring the historic education to a close with a picnic lunch at Tea Tree Flat Picnic Area on Delegate River bank
