Take a journey through time discovering old growth forests and hike past trickling streams, friendly ferns and some of the largest living shining gums in the world.

Explore ancient growth forests, as you dip through pockets of mist-shrouded rainforest by foot or by four wheel drive. At 1,000m above sea level in the far east of Gippsland, the park is often - quite literally - a walk through the clouds. Due to high rainfall taking its toll on unsealed roads, the park is generally only accessible in drier months.

  • Set off on your morning gallop to Mt Ellery, a granite outcrop where dreamy views await.
  • Fall madly in love with misty stands of both cool and warm temperate rainforest.
  • Look up in awe at ancient eucalypts many hundreds of years old and thought to be some of the largest shining gums in the world.
  • Find your 4WD-legs on the easy Murrungowar Errinundra Four Wheel Drive Loop (132km) or the more advanced Combienbar East Errinundra Four Wheel Drive (111km) taking in the whole Combienbar Valley.
  • Pack a sanga and your thermos and set out for Tea Tree Flat, Errinundra Saddle, Queensborough or Mt Morris.
  • Take a drive along The Baldwin Spencer Trail in the footsteps of the early explorer for scenic park vibes.

Nature & Outdoors

The park abounds in easy and moderate nature trails, bushwalks and four-wheel drive tracks. Spot mountain plum pines, dreamy views atop granite-studded Mt Ellery, or follow the elevated boardwalks through the delicate Errinundra Saddle.
