The heart of the town (not to mention one of the best sunset viewing points in the region) is the Marlo Pub. The cheerful bistro service extends onto the generous umbrella-clad verandah with views towards the estuaries.

Marlo is abuzz with talk of honey from the Happy Bear Honey, which is arguably the tiniest farmgate. The incy-wincy shop is found on William Hunter Dve and sells all things bee-produced.

The Local champions regional produce with fresh, flavoursome meals in a warm, friendly setting loved by locals and visitors alike.

Just up the road, Sailors Grave Brewing’s new Dunetown is a destination brewery and nestled in the lee of the tertiary and secondary dunes between Marlo and Cape Conran. Settle in at a sun-drenched outdoor table with one of their cult-favourite beers on tap and enjoy a menu packed with flavour — think fresh fish tacos, loaded burritos, and Long Paddock ice cream.

Walks

Take in the unique landscapes of the lower reaches of the Snowy River on the Snowy River Estuary Walk, a 5km gentle amble from the centre of town to the dramatic coast of Mots Beach.

Fishing & boating

There are boat ramps at the Marlo Jetty, Brodribb River (at the end of Old Marlo Road), Corringle Slips and on the Snowy River along Lochend Road.

Cast a line in the estuary or platforms along the Snowy River. There’s a healthy chance of dinner being something you caught that day. Plan your menu around bream, luderick, mullet, estuary perch, silver trevally, dusky flathead, Australian bass and mulloway. Or dive from the boat for crayfish and abalone.
