1km, 15 mins | Marlo | A short bushwalk amongst the southernmost palms in Australia, over gentle hills with plenty of wildlife spotting and birdwatching opportunities.
The Cabbage Tree Creek Flora Reserve is an aptly named area. The walk is dominated by the striking cabbage tree palms, in their southernmost standpoint in Australia. Almost taste tropical air as you follow this walking track through the beautiful fan palms that more regularly grow amongst Queensland swampland. If you’re lucky, you might hear the mimicking calls of a superb male lyrebird engaging in his courtship serenade.
