Visit The Bluff Reserve for riverside bliss, where an impressive rock face towers above the Buchan River.

Located just 1km north of the town centre, get high on the serenity as crystal clear mountain water runs over a stone base. There is a sharp bend in the river under the rockface, edged by a stand of plane trees.

While there are no facilities, you can drive right up to the river’s edge, and it’s a beautiful place to laze about to the background track of the gurgling river.

The river below The Bluff is the local swimming hole. The river is deep at the sharp bend in front of the plane trees, or shallower waters can be found around the pebbly river island just downstream of the bend. It's also possible to lilo or raft between the bluff and the swing bridge, near town.

While the river may become unswimmable during times of drought or after flooding, water flow is usually good here.
