Enjoy the peaceful ambience of the beautiful Morwell River waterfall and reserve without the crowds.

Get off the beaten track and drive the gentle gravel Morwell River Road to get to the Morwell River Falls Reserve.

Tucked away just out of Boolarra, Morwell River Falls is a place of peace. This is an oasis of native bush and its remote location is part of its charm. From Boolarra South, follow the unsuspecting gravel road. It might feel like you’re heading nowhere, but trust the process… the road from Boolarra South is well signed.

The narrow country road dips past hills speckled with pine trees while following the twists and turns of the Morwell River. There’s a signed car park on the side of the road.

MORWELL RIVER FALLS WALK

The short walk takes 15 minutes return.

Beginning the walk from the car park, you’ll soon reach a cleared grassy area with a round picnic table and information shelter.

Walk down a short set of steps, then wander along the upper reaches of the meandering Morwell River for about 100m. There are a few small cascades and lovely views across the scenic stretch of river.

The next set of steps down a wooden staircase spits you out at the wide pool at the base of the largest cascade. It's possible to paddle in the widening of the river here.

ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION

The walk is suitable for people with good mobility and children. The track can be slippery and muddy when wet and is quite narrow in parts. There are sections with steps. This walk is not suitable for prams.
