The Mt Baw Baw 7 Peaks Challenge short road climb is infamous for its leg burning gradients.

Short and steep, this climb is recognised as one of the hardest climbs in Australia. When you reach the village at the top, the feeling of satisfaction is second only to the views, which are breathtaking, if you have any breath left to be taken. The thrilling steep descent makes it all worth it. Start in Tanjil Bren or Noojee for a scenic warm-up before hitting the hill.

Start your ride at The Gantry on Mt Baw Baw Tourist Road and climb 741m of elevation over just 6.5 kilometre to finish at the Mt Baw Baw Village Entry Gates. Pedal an average gradient of 11.4% and a max grade of 20.6%. Water and toilets are available in Mt Baw Baw Village. This ride takes you into alpine areas, always be prepared with clothing layers and check the weather, the Vic Emergency App and VicRoads before setting out.
