Take a stroll along The Esplanade to enjoy the sea air, spotting boats out in the water and gazing across at French Island. Continuing on, you’ll find the Corinella Jetty, where you can indulge in an afternoon of fishing.
Near the jetty is the historic Settlement Point. Wave over at French Island or enjoy views of Western Port’s cliffs and coastline.
On the other side of the peninsula is the Corinella Dog Beach, where you can bring your pooch for a splash in the water. If you would like to have a swim yourself, just a bit further south is the Picnic, Walking and Swimming Area. Spend the day in and out of the water, fossicking in the nearby rocks.
From Corinella Jetty you can catch the ferry across to French Island. The vehicular barge has room for two cars or a large truck, and pedestrians can hop on, too. The barge runs several times a day, but book a spot in advance to avoid disappointment.
Fig & The Bay in Corinella invites you into a freshly renovated heritage homestead, with wide verandas and sun soaked outdoor seating. The coffee is top notch and the breakfast menu is extensive - try the Brunch Tower.
It wouldn’t be Gippsland without some award-winning farms. Head to nearby Bassine Specialty Cheeses for some indulgent bries and camemberts that are made right there on the farm. Established in 1966, these folks know what they are doing, recently winning a Gold Medal for their fresh Whole Milk at the Dairy Industry Australia competition.
La Provincia is a family-run café and wine bar stocking homemade passata, small goods, fresh vegetables, cheese, wine and preserves.
Load up on fresh produce at Macca’s Farm Fresh Produce, home to free-range meats, organic fruits and vegetables and locally sourced jams. Stop in at the cafe for lunch, and indulge in their seasonal menu that uses ingredients straight from the farm.
Drive 25 minutes up the road to Caldermeade. Dine in the café, pet the farm animals and see the cows being milked at Caldermeade Farm & Café.
Settlement Point Walk (850m) is short walk through natives and wetlands to views of Western Port's cliffs and coastline, and nearby French Island.
