  3. Little Wonders: Glamping in Inverloch

Because sleeping in a tent doesn’t have to mean “roughing it”.

Discover an oasis of calm by the dashing coastal town of Inverloch, at The Inverloch Glamping Co. Set on idyllic farmland fringing the Bass Strait, this eco-friendly property is a place you go to switch off and connect with your natural surrounds - a place to breathe.

The bell-shaped tents span a lavish 5 metres, which is precisely enough space for a queen bed with chiminea, set cosily atop carpet and rugs. The tents are propped on a deck, ripe for sunrise moments. All tents are beautifully furnished with a Scandinavian flavour, so you can be cosy in style.

The Anderson’s Let tent is impossibly romantic, with private deck, outdoor area and ensuite cabin surrounded by a superbly landscaped garden. The other two tents are designed for a getaway for friends, with shared ensuite cabin, outdoor space with fire pit and a plus-sized hammock.

There are even a couple of cabins on the property, facing the luring blues of the ocean. Laying in your queen-sized bed you can look across farmlands to the sea, with a wood fire to keep you warm, or open up the sumptuous floor-to-ceiling windows in warmer months. Swinging gently in the hanging cane chair with a good book in hand is a must.

The signature touch of the owners can be found in every nook and cranny of this place. The tasteful styling is in keeping with the property’s light environmental footprint, with warm timber panelling and rustic corrugated iron, and soft furnishings in earthy tones.

No detail has been overlooked. There is a large camp kitchen, an extension of the chic styling found throughout the property, a communal blue stone fire pit, generous dining areas and gardens to wander. There are large cushions for lounging and hand-knitted rugs to snuggle into on those brisk nights.

It’s possible that you’ll be so comfortable glamping that you won’t want to return home.
