Peppered with heritage buildings, the town’s historical significance can be taken in on the Toora Heritage Walk. The easy walk around town provides interpretation boards at key points of interest around the town centre.

No visit to Toora would be complete without popping into The Panton Store, a loving and meticulous restoration of the town's old hardware store. Browse a thoughtfully curated collection of gifts and homewares, and maybe take home a memento or two.

Admire the natural earth paintings by local artists at Rare Earth Studio Gallery. Most of the pigments are sourced from the owner's farm near Wilsons Promontory. You can also stock up on ceramics, jewellery and artisan-turned woods, as well as books by local authors.

If you're feeling crafty, stop by Sams Patch, where you can stock up on the softest wool for all your knitting projects, and the Post Office stocks gifts and souvenirs.

The hills above town are home to the Toora Wind Farm, boasting 12 immense wind turbines. There is free entry to the observation area where you can get up close and personal with these grand ladies. They tower at 67m and generate enough renewable energy to power 6,600 homes. It’s hard to beat the views from here.

For the best views around town, try the Silcock Hill Road Lookout or nearby Mt Best or Mt Fatigue for excellent vantage points.

Tooradeli brings big flavour to little Toora with stacked bagels, fresh salads, excellent coffee and a menu full of house-made goodness, all served in a bright and welcoming Italian deli.

In the town centre, the Windmill Café offers house-made cakes and meals with an emphasis on fresh produce, gluten free, vegan and vegetarian dishes.

Meanwhile, Toora Woodfired Pizza are heating things up with an array of traditional Italian-style pizzas, they also bake their own delicious bagels to take away, if you're quick!

Within 15-20 minutes of Toora, you can choose between a winery and a cidery. Just out of Foster, drop into Gurneys Cider award-winning cellar door to sample their unique small-batch craft ciders with a platter of hyper-local antipasto or a unique Pinsa Romana (like pizza, but oh-so-much better). For something truly unforgettable, join the Underground Tour of the world's largest underground cider cellar - an immersive, flavour-filled journey into the heart of the family's cider craft.

At Waratah Hills Vineyard in Fish Creek you can sample high-end, premium wines (don’t miss the pinot noir) and enjoy lunch with a gorgeous outlook over vine-covered slopes. Their menu of scrumptious antipasto has expanded to larger share plates - think smoked salmon with asparagus or chicken waldorf salad - plus kids meals, so you can stay a little longer.

About a 50 minute drive north-east in Willung South, is the idyllic Carrajung Estate. This luxurious destination is a rural haven, featuring a fine dining restaurant, cellar door and relaxing accommodation where you can unwind in the stunning countryside.

The mammoth 100+ kilometre Great Southern Rail Trail passes through Toora, connecting Nyora in the west to Yarram in the east. The trail passes through gorgeous countryside and delightful villages, and can be walked, ridden or galloped.

There are horse-parking spots where you can hitch your horse (like a carpark for horses) at Sagasser Park, so horse riders can enjoy a rein-free latte or bite to eat when coming to Toora.
