The Woods Point Campground, five hours drive east of Melbourne in Far East Gippsland, is one of the few locations where you can set up camp beside the mighty Snowy River.
The spacious grassy campground sits alongside the sandy river banks with spectacular views of the Snowy River and plenty of options for camping and picnicking.
Water-based activities are some of the most popular ways to spend time here, including extended rafting trips along the river. Fishing is also a popular activity, with the river renowned for Australian Bass.
Located only 30 minutes from Orbost, with moderate two-wheel-drive access, this campground is an excellent choice for those looking to explore the diverse forest along the Snowy River without going too far from town.
