Make art and culture part of your story by experiencing The West Gippsland Arts Centre (WGAC) in the heart of Warragul township.
Surrounded by the gorgeous botanical gardens of Civic Park, the tall, cascading facade of WGAC cannot be missed, sweeping down from its peak to form a uniquely curved arc, with a tiered, communal outdoor space that doubles as a great meeting spot or place to mingle. On occasion, you’ll even be entertained by live music performers right on the very steps.
Enter the classic cinema-style foyer and feel the excitement build as you discover the talent on offer here. The diversity of performers is outstanding, with a combination of featured big name acts, alongside community performances, kids shows, orchestras, plays, musicians, and comedians - there is literally something for everyone to experience.
The intimate 750 seat theatre not only makes for great viewing no matter where you sit, but it also has a unique way of showcasing and honouring WGAC's 40 year history. Backstage, the exposed brick walls are handsomely graffitied with the signatures and paraphernalia of decades of performing artists. It’s quite remarkable, inclusive and immersive to be in this space, almost like being in a Hall of Fame.

If you’re looking for something to do besides going to a show, why not pop into the WGAC's gallery space located over three levels, where you can view
and even purchase local artwork, and admire the Baw Baw Shire Council’s collection, which includes works from Kenneth Jack, Victor Cobb and Hedley Potts, as well as local artists Gary Miles, Kerrie Warren and Maery Gabriel.
If you fancy a bit of entertaining yourself, the grand piano is also available for you to make your mark.
