Take in the last of these summer rays with action-packed adventure by the lakes.

We are seeing the last glimpse of summer, perfect for spending days lakeside and by the shores of the famed Ninety Mile Beach. Sure, you knew you could take a cruise on the lakes. 1. SEGWAY

Lakes Entrance Segway Adventures

Glide by the edge of the shimmering lakes, through rows of vines or zoom on the sand along Ninety Mile Beach (really - your vessel is fitted with off-road tyres!). Step 1: Learn how to tame your beast with some segway technique training. Step 2: Whoosh!

2. CYCLE

The Gippsland Lakes are blessed with a number of nearby cycling experiences including the iconic East Gippsland Rail Trail or the Gippsland Lakes Discovery Mountain Biking Trail, as well as a number of mountain biking parks.

You can hire a bike or join a fully guided tour with the pros at Venture Out or Snowy River Cycling.

3. CRUISE

Take an eco-cruise with Lonsdale Eco Cruises or Sea Safari on Lakes Explorer both providing expert commentary, or cruise along by yacht with Sail Safari or Riviera Nautic. Peels Cruises offer general sightseeing cruises and run the popular Luncheon Cruise including lunch at the Metung Pub.

Lakes Explorer also runs a water-taxi service providing access to remote locations.

4. PADDLE
