Packaging & Marketing Workshops

Destination Gippsland has engaged the expertise of Tania Jacobs from The Tourism Ninja to run stargazing packaging and marketing workshops.

Learn how to create packages that celebrate the beauty of Gippsland's night skies and explore effective marketing strategies to promote them through connecting to Stargazing Gippsland. www.stargazinggippsland.au

Tourism businesses are encouraged to leverage their unique tourism offerings to develop night sky packages.

Gippsland Dark Skies Project

The Gippsland Dark Skies Project is an exciting new astro-tourism experience. The project has been developed with funding from the Local Economic Recovery Program – Bushfire Recovery Regional Economic Stimulus and Resilience Recovery Grants through Regional Development Victoria. (RDV)

The project has been developed in 13 East Gippsland and Wellington destinations that were affected by bushfire. These places have been identified for their observational opportunities for Star Gazing in Gippsland.

Destination Gippsland has worked closely with a range of communities and businesses and relevant stakeholders including Parks Victoria, GLaWAC, DECCA and East Gippsland and Wellington Shire Councils in the development of this project.

The project consists of.

  • Marketing and experience development
  • Signage around the region with QR codes linking to the website
  • The Stargazing Gippsland website www.stargazinggippsland.au
  • Visitor information
  • First Nations storytelling
  • Stargazing experiences

The Latrobe Valley Astronomical Society is based in the Latrobe Valley region of Gippsland, in Victoria, Australia. It caters for all with an interest in astronomy, from the budding star-gazer to the established amateur astronomer. The society began in Moe back in 1954 and has an observatory located on Coach Road Hill in Yallourn.
