Baw Baw Epic Adventure Ride

Development of the proposed Baw Baw Epic Adventure Ride would see many benefits delivered to Gippsland, and in particular Central Gippsland including the Mount Baw Baw Alpine Resort and the smaller towns of Erica, Rawson, Walhalla and Glengarry.

The proposed 100+km ride experience would be market-leading, generating increased visitation and economic stimulus as it targets the rapid growth in outdoor travel and mountain biking markets. It is envisaged that the experience be multifaceted in its experience profile and encompass at its core a 100km+- multiday ride route that highlights the natural beauty of the Baw Baw mountain ranges, the alpine foothills and Latrobe Valley environs, while boosting visitation and economic benefit to existing township hubs and active tourism nodes.

Significant opportunity exists to position Gippsland as a mountain bike destination of national and international significance through not only this trail’s development, but also the Central Gippsland ‘G7’ Mountain Bike Hub and the Omeo Mountain Bike Destination (East Gippsland).

The proposed Baw Baw Epic Adventure Ride presents a compelling mountain bike experience and brand that would help position Central Gippsland as a nationally important mountain biking region with a critical mass of high-quality riding propositions. This ‘Epic’ experience would leverage the general growth in mountain biking and e-MTB participation, encouraging more and longer tourism visitation stays in the Central Gippsland region.
